First released in 2002 the MAZDA 6 is mazda’s best car since the MAZDA mx5. The MAZDA 6 comes with a choice of 1.8, 2.0 and 2.3 petrol engines and a choice of 2 diesel engines. The MAZDA 6 range is available in hatchback, salon or estate. Worldwide the MAZDA 6 has won 80 automotive awards The MAZDA 6 is the perfect antidote to all the boring Mazdas of the last few years. It's keenly priced, extremely well constructed and fun to drive thanks to a well-set up chassis and a range of eager engines. The large cabin is a comfortable place to spend time thanks to plenty of space, a good seating position and some agreeably garish dashboard design. The MAZDA 6 is the
companyĺs entry in the competitive mid-priced-sedan segment, where it
contends against the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The 6 comes with
either a 160-horsepower, 2.3-liter four-cylinder or a 220-hp, 3.0-liter
V-6Śboth paired with a five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed
automatic is available with the four-cylinder, and for 2005 the V-6
automatic option is a six-speed instead of five. All models get
weight-sensing airbags, and the base model gets standard ABS and
traction control. New Sport and Grand Touring models have standard side
and curtain airbags. Mazda added a roomy five-door hatchback in
mid-2004, and for 2005 a new wagon joins the lineup (see Wagon
section). Although it trails the Accord and Camry in the sales derby,
this car is fun to drive and definitely deserves a spot on your
shopping list. |
